Walkeshwar Kashi Math

Walkeshwar Kashi Math is a branch of Kashi Math Samsthan of Varanasi. Located on the banks of the Banganga Tank, in Mumbai, the ashram houses samadhis of Shri Madhavendra Teerth Swamiji (7th pontiff) and Shri Varadendra Teerth Swamiji (the 18th pontiff).

The first samadhi was constructed in 1775 on the request of Shri Madhavendra Teerth, who entered the samadhi when he was still alive. It is believed that Shri Madhavendra is still alive in the state of samadhi to bless his disciples. This sacred place is visited by numerous devotees.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) Railway Station serve the area.
