Wai




Wai is a beautiful town located on the banks of Krishna River in Satara District, Maharashtra. Situated at an altitude of 701 m above sea level, the town is famous for its temples. Wai is 88 km south of Pune, on the way to Panchgani and is just 32 km north of Mahabeleshwar - the queen of hill stations.

Wai is well known for its seven ghats: Gangapuri, Madhi Aali, Ganpati Aali, Dharmapuri, Brahmanshahi, Ramdoh and Bhimkund. Other places of tourist interest in and around the town include the Pandavgadh Fort, Palpeshwar Cave and the caves of Harya Ramoshi.

Wai is also famous for its ‘Pedha’, popularly known as Kandi Pedha(a sweet delicacy made of ghee and milk).

The nearest airport is at Pune.
