Located near the Vipassana International Academy in
Igatpuri, Vipassana Research Institute is one of the largest centers for the practice of
vipassana. Founded in 1985, its research activities primarily focus on two areas such as translation and publication of the Pali texts and research into the application of vipassana in daily life. Besides, the center conducts international seminars and ten-day vipassana courses. Residential programs in Vipassana and Pali studies are also available. Daily meditation practice, intensive retreats and service at Vipassana International Academy form part of the curriculum.
