Villivakkam Reservoir is located at
Villivakkam in
Chennai. This reservoir was set up during the British rule. The reservoir is about 1500 ft long and 900 ft wide.
Villivakkam Reservoir was used as the major drinking water source for the nearby localities till 1950. Today, the water here is used by the Southern Railway for washing purposes in its workshops.
