Vilangudi

Vilangudi is a small town situated in between Paravai and Madurai, in Madurai District, Tamil Nadu. It spans over an area of about six sq km. Paravai is situated in the north-west, Anaiyur in the east, Vadapalanji in the west and Samayanallur in the south. Vaigai River flows by the town. Tourist spots accessible from Vilangudi include Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, Gandhi Museum, Thirumalai Nayak Palace, Thirupparankundram Temple, Agastiswarar Temple, Kutladampatti Waterfalls, Ayannar Temple, Mariamman Teppakulam, Rajaji Park and Aappudaiyaar Kovil. Samayanallur Railway Station at Samayanallur serves the town. Madurai Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railhead. Vilangudi can be approached from Madurai and Vadippatti by road.
