Vikramanar River branches out from the
Cauvery River. It flows through
Thanjavur and
Karaikal districts and finally merges with the
Bay of Bengal.
Vikramanar River, like other branches of Cauvery River, splits into a number of distributaries. A large part of Karaikal district is irrigated by this river.
