Vidyasagar Setu

Vidyasagar Bridge



Second bridge to come up over the Hooghly at Kolkata, Vidyasagar Setu is a modern day engineering marvel and is the longest cable stayed bridge in Asia. It was completed in 1994.

It connects the twin cities of Kolkata and Howrah and is named after Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, an eminent scholar and a champion of social reforms.
