Vettadikkavu is a historical monument located in
Changanacherry, 18 km south of
Kottayam. It reminds the battle brawled between King Marthanda Varma and Ettuveettil Pillas.
Vettadikkavu is the place where King Marthanda Varma killed the Ettuveettil Pillas, when they became a great threat to the king. It is said that their spirits were kept arrested in the Kavu (monument) by Nampoothripad of Kumaramangalam Mana.
