Venur Bahubali Temple




Venur Bahubali Temple is located on the banks of river Phalguni in Mangalore. The idol of Bahubali was installed in 1605 by an Anjila prince, Veera Thimanna Ajila V (1558-1616). Apart from the Bahubali statues which are situated on the top of the hill, the 35 ft idol of Bahubali is seen in a flat area in sylvan surroundings. Mahamasthakabhisheka is held here every twelve years.

The temple is at a distance of 54 km from Mangalore, 32 km from Dharmasthala and 20 km from Moodabidri. Boarding and lodging facilities are available at Dharmasthala or Moodabidri.

The closest airport and railhead are at Mangalore.
