Venkatagiri is located in
Nellore District and is about 80 km southwest of
Nellore town. Venkatagiri is renowned for a kind of hand woven
saris, popularly known as
Venkatagiri saris. Two ancient forts located here are the major tourist attractions. Venkatagiri also has houses of former zamindars (land lords), which are renowned for architectural excellence.
