Vellode Bird Sanctuary




Vellode Bird Sanctuary is located in Erode District of Tamil Nadu. It is spread over 77 hectares and was established in 1997. About 20 migratory birds have been spotted here. Cormorant, darter, egret, heron, black drango, spotted dove, black winged kite, coot, jacana and little snipe are high on the list of sightings.

Vellode Bird Sanctuary is around 15 km south-west of Erode. The best season to visit is from November to February.
