Veli Lake

Veli Lake is a unique inland lake, separated by a narrow sand bar from the Arabian Sea. It is located in the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram in Thiruvananthapuram District. The confluence of the lake with the sea is a picturesque picnic spot, named Veli Tourist Village. The charms of the lake can be explored by boat rides. Motor-driven safari launches, powerboats and pedal boats or rowboats can be hired from the Tourist Village. The eastern flank of the lake harbours two beautiful hillocks, good for hiking. Kayaking and hovercraft ride are also possible. The lake features a floating restaurant and a floating bridge that connects the tourist village with the beach.
