Veeyapuram




Veeyapuram is a beautiful village situated at the southern end of Kuttanad in Alappuzha District. The village is associated with the epic Mahabharata. According to myth, Lord Krishna and Arjuna had visited here and set fire to a forest called Khandava.

Veeyapuram is the place where the famous Pamba River merges with the Achankovil River and Manimala River and reaches Vembanad Lake. Backwaters trips can be arranged from Veeyapuram.

Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport to this place.The nearest railway station is at Alappuzha.
