Vasudevs




Vasudevs are traveling singers belonging to Maharashtra. They praise Lord Krishna in their songs. They sing and dance, but do not preach. Their livelihood is the alms they receive while singing. ‘Vasudev’ is another name of Lord Krishna.

Vasudevs always dress in traditional white slacks and a pleated coat. Their caps are conical in shape, fitted with a peacock feather. They carry flute and a cymbal for giving music to their songs. They are popular among the children.
