Vareekara Bhagavathy Kavu, owned by the Nambiar community, is located at
Kozhummal in
Kannur District of
Kerala. Surrounded by natural waterfalls and streams, the kavu is about 14 km from
Payyanur.
A temple dedicated to Bhagavathy is situated in the middle of the kavu. An annual Theyyam conducted here in the month of April attracts thousands of people from all over the district. Vareekara Bhagavathy with long headgear is the famous theyyam here.
