Archaeological Museum, established in 1905, is located at
Varanasi, in
Uttar Pradesh. The museum displays stone sculptures and works of art of Mauryan, Shunga, Kushana, Gupta and medieval periods. Excavated materials from adjoining sites, architectural fragments, old coins and paintings are also on display. Photography is allowed.
The museum has a well-stocked library. Film shows are conducted occasionally.
The Archaeological Museum is open from 10:00 to 17: 00 hrs on all days, except Friday.
