Van Vagris is a tribe of forest dwellers from the semi arid region of
Nagaur,
Ajmer, Sikar, Churu and Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan. This nomadic group camps on sand dunes away from the villages and towns for a few days and then moves on to the next destination. The tribe is famous for its skills in shooting. For food, the tribe depends on meat. People from this tribe hunt fox, hare, jackal and other animals. Spears, bow and arrows and iron traps are used for hunting. Van Vagris also train dogs for hunting various animals.
