Vallarpadam Feast is devoted to Vallarapadath Amma, who is believed to have miraculously saved her devotees several time from violent storms. The feast takes place at St Mary’s Church in Vallarpadam, an island located west of Bolghatty Island in Ernakulam District.
The feast is celebrated every year on September 24 amid much pomp and splendor. The celebrations last for a week and are accompanied by an unusually big fair. Country boats and cars, pots and straw mats are the most important products and articles offered at this fair.
