Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Co-operative Management commenced its operations in 1947 and is located close to the Pune University campus,
Pune. It offers postgraduate diploma in business management (PGDBM) and diploma in co-operative business management (DCBM) programmes. The institution was started with a view to cater to the growing needs of skilled professionals in the co-operative institutions and departments through management development, training, education, research and consultancy. Orientation training programmes are also conducted for officers from the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), the Indian Forest Services (IFS) and the Chairman and Managing Directors of national level co-operative organizations.
Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls. Besides academic programs, the institute attaches importance to sports and games also.
The institute is 7 km from Pune Junction Railway Station and 15 km from the Pune Lohegaon Airport.
