Vaikalnadeswarar Temple is located at Tiruvaikalmadakovil,
Thanjavur District. The place is 5 km southeast of Tiruneelakudi. The temple is one of the 78 maadakkovils built at an elevation by Kochenkan Cholan. The presiding deity of this Shivasthalam is Vaikalnadeswarar. Goddess Vaikalambiga Illankothaiammai is also worshipped here. Sambandar has contributed pathigams praising the lord. The festival of Pankuni Uthiram is celebrated here in a grand manner. The nearest railway station is at Aduthurai.
