Abakash is a ladies voluntary social welfare organization in
Hooghly District. It was established in 1981 with an objective to serving the distressed, deceased and handicapped people of the society. They also are committed to provide financial assistance to patients, organize Hepatitis 'B' immunization camps for children, arrange free micro surgery, donate wheel chairs and extend financial help to the welfare societies. A children's clinic and a vocational training center are run under Abakash.
Sraddhanjali is the old age home of Abakash. It was built in memory of the late Asman Tara Debi.
