Uttara Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple



Uttara Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is situated in the village of Rameshwaram, Mahabubnagar District. The Shivlinga of this temple is a Swayambhu (self-manifest) and it is believed that this was declared sacred by Lord Ram in Tretayuga. The specialty of this Shivalinga is that the back of it is similar to the back of any human being. The temple also houses the sanctum of Vinayaka, Kumara Swamy and Navagraha. The main festival is Shivratri. During this time, thousands of devotees visit the temple to offer prayers. The nearest railhead is Shadnagar Railway Station, 10 km away. The temple can also be reached from Shadnagar Bus station (10 km) or from NH-7 by traveling about 4 km.
