Uthramvilakku

Uthramvilakku is a festival held at the Edakkunni Sri Durga Temple of Ollur, 7 km south of Thrissur. It was formerly known as Uhrampattu, a form of Brahmani Pattu (a ritual singing). The festival falls on the Uthram day of the Malayalam month of Meenam (March-April).

This annual festival begins with hoisting of a flag in the temple. An impressive section is the ceremonial procession of elephants with the idol of Goddess Durga. Pancharimelam is also an important part of this festival.
