Ustad Bade Gulam Ali Khan




Ustad Bade Gulam Ali Khan was a prolific khayal and thumri vocalist of the Patiala Gharana. Born in Patiala in Punjab in 1902, he is often referred to as the ‘King of Light Classical Music’. In 1962, he was awarded Padma Bhushan for his outstanding contribution to Indian classical music. In 1967, he was awarded Sangeet Natak Akademi Award; he died the same year.
