Urokthong




Urokthong is an indigenous bridge of Manipur. It is usually constructed over small streams and rivers.

Urokthong is a slightly humped structure built from a single bamboo pole, which serves as a platform for walking. For the support, there is a bamboo railing. It is not meant for a heavy use. Only a single person can use it at a time. It is built at a height of at least 8 m above the water or ground level.
