Undavalli

Undavalli is a village, located about five kilometers from Vijayawada, on the banks of the Krishna River. Guntur is 32 km away.

The focal point of Undavalli is rock cut temples and multi-storied caves with exquisite images, of which the most popular is a big statue of Lord Vishnu in lying posture. The shrines dedicated to Trimurti can be seen here.

The excavations done here revealed several architectural and sculptural models including the image Lord Vishnu on Garuda, most of them dating back to the 7th century.

Undavalli is easily accessible from Vijayawada.
