Ulloor S Parameswara Iyer




Maha Kavi Shri Ulloor S Parameswara Iyer (known by the penname Ulloor) is one of the celebrated exponents of Malayalam literature. Born at Changanacherry in 1877, he was a master in all the techniques of classical poetry. Even though his mother tongue was Tamil, he composed numerous literary works in Malayalam. His famous work Kerala Sahitya Charitram is a monumental history of the literature of Kerala. His other noted works are Uma Keralam, Pingala, Mangala Manjari and Karnabhushanam. Ulloor died in 1949.
