Ugra Narasimha Temple

Ugra Narasimha Temple is located south of the Hemakuta group of temples, in Hampi, Karnataka. The gigantic idol of Ugra Narasimha is depicted with four-arms, seated under the canopy of a seven-hooded snake.

This magnificent idol, now in a damaged state, was carved out of a single rock. The recent discovery of the detached figure of Goddess Lakshmi suggests that the goddess was originally seated on his lap.
