Udayagiri Hill

Udayagiri is a scenic hill situated 6 km from Bhubaneswar in Khordha District of Orissa. Udayagiri literally means ‘hill of the sunrise’. This hill is seen 40 m above the surrounding lateritic and infertile plain.

Udayagiri is famous for the ancient caves which surround the hill. These caves are proof of the Jain and Buddhist occupation of the region in the 2nd century. The ideal time to visit Udayagiri Hills is from April to December.
