Tulsi Ghat

A spot at the southern edge of Varanasi, Tulsi Ghat got its name from Tulsidas, one of the renowned poets of the medieval age.

Earlier referred to as Lolark Ghat, Tulsi Ghat is considered divine. There is a belief that a dip here helps one to get rid of leprosy.

Krishna Lila Festival is held during the Hindu lunar month of Kartika. Conventional rites, music concerts and spiritual discourses are also conducted on this occasion.
