Tulapur




Tulapur, formerly known as Nagargaon, is a historic place situated in Pune District, Maharashtra. It was the place where Shambhaji, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji was arrested by Aurangzeb. He was killed in Tulapur and his samadhi is located in Vadhu. Tulapur is about 40 km north-east of Pune.

Situated on the banks of three rivers - Bhima River, Indrayani and Bhama, Tulapur is famous for the Sangameshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Tulapur can be reached by bus from Pune Bus Station.
