Trivikrama Temple




Trivikrama Temple is a Vaishnavite temple located at Kanchipuram. Spread over an area of 60000 sq feet, the temple has a three tiered Rajagopuram and two prakarams. The temple deities are Trivikraman facing west and Amritavalli. The temple also houses the shrines to 147289Andal and Manavalamamuni.

Legend goes that in order to fulfill the worship of Mahabali, Lord Vishnu appeared in front of him as Trivikrama at this place. Inscriptions from the Chola period are seen here. It holds a tank known by the name Nagatheertham tank. The main festival is the annual Brahmotsavam celebrated in the month of Thai.
