Triveni Ghat

Triveni Ghat is a sacred bathing spot on the banks of Ganges River in Rishikesh, Uttaranchal.

The ghat is believed to be the confluence of three rivers- the Ganges, the Yamuna and the Saraswati. Hence the name Triveni Ghat. People take bath here with the belief that the water has the power to purify them.

At dawn, devotees make offerings of milk to the river and feed the fish. After sunset, lamps are made to float on the river as a part of aarti ceremony.
