Tripura State Cultural Research Institute




Tripura State Cultural Research Institute, founded in 1970, performs researches and studies on history and culture of the tribes of Tripura. It is situated at Supari Bagan in Krishna Nagar, Agartala, the state capital. Tripura State Cultural Research Institute aims to maintain tribal tradition of the state by organizing training programs on tribal development. It also takes steps for coaching and development of Kokborok language. The institute organizes state and national level book fair and exhibition, documentation of tribal boys, art and cultural life.

Tripura State Cultural Research Institute has an ethnographical museum, an auditorium and a well stocked library which houses about 10,000 volumes of reference books on life and culture of the tribes of Tripura.
