Torvi




Torvi is a scenic hamlet marked with numerous trees, extensive green lands and swaying palms. This village is about 6 km from Bijapur, the land of monuments.

Torvi is renowned for its Narasimha temple with an underground shrine. Many pilgrims throng here during the Narasimha Jayanthi. It is believed that Toravi Ramayana, the Kannada version of the Ramayana, was written by Kumara Valmiki in this temple.

Bijapur Railway Station and Belgaum Airport are the nearest railhead and airport.
