Tomb of Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq

The Tomb of Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq is located to the south of Tughlaqabad in New Delhi. Built by Ghiyasuddin Tughlak, it was an impressive structure with red sandstone with the walls being sloppy. The walls are crowned with grand white marble dome. Pentagonal walls enclose the tomb giving an impression of a fort.

Ghiyasuddin, his wife and Muhammad bin Tughlaq were buried here. The fort is partially in ruins, but still worth a visit. The tomb is about 8 km east of the Qutab Minor.
