Tikarpara




Strategically situated on the left bank of the Satkosia Gorge, Tikarpara is in Angul District of Orissa. It is about 120 km from Dhenkanal and 58 km from Angul. The Gharial Crocodile Sanctuary set up here is the major point of attraction. Tikarpara is an ideal place for boating, angling and adventure.

Tikarpara, surrounded by lush green forest and rich wild life, is a much sought after destination for group picnickers. The meandering Mahanadi River, which flows amid beautiful hills, creates the mightiest gorge in India, Satkosia Gorge, measuring about 22 km in length. It is regarded as one of the world’s most enhancing spots.

Athamallick is another tourist spot situated nearby.

Angul Railway Station, on the Sambalpur-Khordha, is the nearest railhead. Biju Patnaik Airport serves Tikarpara.
