The institute works to maintain the traditions of Tibetan Medicine by conducting training for doctors and producing the necessary medicine for its 42 branch clinics in India and Nepal. There are departments for Herbal Product Research, Materia Medica Research, Pharmacology, Clinical Research and Astrology.
