Thyvalappil Sree Moolasthanam




A unique Kuttichathan temple in Kerala, Thyvalappil Sree Moolasthanam is at Pazhuvil in Thrissur District. This is an ancient shrine belonging to the second Chera Dynasty.

The temple, commonly known as Kaliyuga Varada Temple, is the abode of Vishnu Maya. There is a panchaloha idol of the deity in the sanctum sanctorum. People believe that a visit to this temple will throw away worries and sorrows, and cure all illness.

Sarpa Puja and Amavasi Puja are the main rituals associated with this temple. The temple celebrates Thottam Pattu Festival in a grand manner.

Thyvalappil Sree Moolasthanam is around 17 km from Thrissur, on the Cherpu-Triprayar road.
