Thri Nethra Anjaneya Swami Temple




Thri Nethra Anjaneya Swami Temple is situated at Ananthamangalam, in Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The idol, about 4 1/2 ft high and made from an alloy of five metals, has three eyes and ten hands, each holding a different weapon.

Mythology has it that Hanuman was given 10 weapons by various gods, to fight some demons. The third eye was granted to him by Lord Shiva. This deity is believed to spread eternal joy among his devotees. The sacred temple pool called Hanumar Teertham is supposed to cure many diseases.
