Thondanur Lake




Thondanur Lake is a beautiful lake in the great Vaishnava pilgrim place of Thondanur. It is said that the water has never dried since it was built. The water so clear and the King Tipu Sultan called it 'Moti Talab,' as one could see the pearl fallen from his broken necklace in the clear water. Thondanur is about 125 km from Bangalore and 45 km from Mysore. It is only about 30 minutes drive from Melkote. The nearest railway station is at Mandya.
