Thiruvaarpu Festival is a temple festival celebrated at the famous
Sri Krishna Temple in
Thiruvaarpu village of
Kottayam District. This annual 10-day long festival is held in the month of April. The highlight is the 'Wakkeduppu' - carrying lighted lamps by virgin girls. During the festival thousands of devotees visit the temple to obtain the divine grace and blessings.
