Thirunageswaram is a pilgrimage centre in
Thanjavur District. The place has one of the Navagruha (nine planets) temples. It is located 6 km to the east of
Kumbakonam. It is believed that serpent Adi Shesha worshipped god Siva and hence the name Thirunageswaram.
