Thirukkannangudi Temple




Thirukkannangudi, one of the 108 Divya Desams, is located near Nagapattinam, between the towns Keevalur and Sikkal.

It is revered as one of the five Krishnaranya Kshethrams. This east-facing temple with two prakarams has a five-tiered Rajagopuram adorning its entrance.

The Moolavar (main deity) here is Lokanathan or Syamalameni Perumaal installed in a standing posture facing east. Taayar is Aravindavalli. The Utsava Murtis are Damodara Narayanan and Lokanayaki. Other deities worshipped here are Lord Ram, Garuda, Hanuman and the Alwars.

The annual festival celebrated in the Tamil month of Chithirai attracts large number of people from far and near.
