Thiru Vann Purushothamam temple is located at Thirunaangur in
Thanjavur District in
Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The deity of this temple is called Lord Purushotaman. The deity is in a standing position facing east.
Lord Ram (incarnation of
Lord Vishnu) is known as Purushotaman, since he is considered as greatest among all men. Another idol of the deity, called Utsavar Purushotaman, meant to be taken out in ceremonial processions is famous for its beauty.
