The Thiru Chithrakoodam temple is situated at
Chidambaram in
Cuddalore District, in
Tamil Nadu. The temple is can be reached from Chidamabaram railway station. Ample bus services are also available to reach this place.
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Interestingly, Lord Vishnu is also worshipped here. There are very few temples in India that are dedicated to both Vishnu and Shiva.
Vishnu is worshipped here in the form of Lord Govindarajan. He is seen in a reclining position facing the east.
