Thennangur




Thennangur in Thiruvannamalai District is a hamlet, 110 km from Chennai in the direction of Vandavasi. It is also on the way from Chengalpattu to Vandavasi via Uthiramerur route.

The place was previously known as Dakshina Halasyam, meaning a place where the learned and wise drink nectar. It is home for the Panduranga - Ragumayi Temple, Sree Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple and Sree Lakshmi Narayana Temple.

Thennangur is 6 km before Vandavasi, 22 km from Uthiramerur, 55 km from Chengalpattu and 30 km from Kanchipuram route. There are bus facilities from Chennai to Vandavasi and from there to Thennangur.
