Themisgam




Themisgam, 3200 m high, is a picturesque village in Leh District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is on the Leh-Srinagar Highway. The Indus River is to the north of Themisgam.

An old palace and a Buddhist gompa, which boasts a marble statue of Buddha, form the prime attractions. Delicious fruits such as apricots are grown here in abundance. Themisgam is also popular for its local beer named Chang.

Surrounded by majestic hills and mountains, Themisgam is ideal for adventure travelers and trekkers. The area is scenic during harvest.

Themisgam can be approached from Leh, which is 80 km away.
