Thekkumbad

Thekkumbad is a picturesque island in Valapattanam river. Situated at Mattool, a tourist spot with a vast network of lakes, Thekkumbad is popularly known as the 'pearl of Mattool.' Main attraction here is a small forest called 'chooral kaadu,' namely, 'bamboo forest.' Apart from this, coconut plantations occcupy most parts of the island.

There are regular boat services connecting Mattool with Thekkumbad.
