Thamizh Thai Temple




Thamizh Thai Temple is a highly revered shrine situated near the Karaikudi Periyar statue, in Sivagangai District of Tamil Nadu. The temple enshrines Thamizh Thai as the presiding deity. The four handed deity is seen as sitting on a lotus. Her front right hand has a lamp and the front left hand holds a Veena. The lower right hand has a Udhiratcha Maalai and a palm leaf book adorns her lower left hand.

Thamizh Thai Temple, built in the shape of a triangle, features separate turrets for the famous saint-poets Thiruvalluvar, Ilango Adigal and Kambar. Statues of Olithai and Varithai are seen at the entrance of the temple. Statues of Sage Agastyaand Tholkappiyar can be seen on the right and left side of the sanctum sanctorum.
